The island of Manam, or Vulcan, is only 15km off the coast from Bogia. The island is 83 sq km in area and is an almost perfect volcanic cone, rising 1829 meters above sea level
Located on the island with an active volcano, and the best time for a volcanic tour of the Manam is during dry season (May – Oct.)
Manam Island provides a good diving and snorkeling just off its black sandy shores and as you travel around the island, you can see the beautiful villages and the various styles of the houses and interesting while traveling you could hear high pitched voices of small children as they play in the sea or shout to one another on the black sandy beach
Manam Islanders are quite famous for their long term Kukurai (Traditional Custom) system and their passive lifestyle
